Asheboro, NC - Police in Asheboro are still investigating a fatal wreck on Hub Morris Road last Wednesday.
Last week police said a van driven by Joseph Preston Cresie III ran off the road - for 98 feet - before it returned and crossed the center line, hitting a Jeep. Cresie was thrown from the van and died from injuries. The one-year-old passenger in the Jeep died from injuries the following day.
Tuesday, police announced Cresie was driving at about 55 mph in a 45 mph zone before it collided with the Jeep, which was driving at 51 mph.
Police suspect Cresie may have been using drugs. A toxicology report is pending.
