Charlotte, N.C. -- Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg elementary schools have been placed on lockdown in separate incidents.
Officials say Statesville Road Elementary School was placed on lockdown Friday morning after police said a man walked into the school. Police said the man went to school's cafeteria. A school administrator called police and placed the school on lockdown.
The man was taken into custody and he is being questioned. Authorities say the man didn't interact with students or faculty.
A lockdown was ordered for Huntersville Elementary School Friday afternoon because of a nearby bank robbery.
