Triad -- We have enjoyed several sunny and dry days this past week. However, all sun and no rain makes a desert. We will likely stock up on more rain Sunday and Monday before the sun returns by mid week.
A cold front is moving closer to the Triad. As it makes progress, it is pulling warm, moist air out of the Gulf of Mexico. That means Sunday will be a tad more humid than Saturday. The rain chance will also increase on Sunday afternoon and evening. The best chance comes in Sunday night and Monday. It goes up to 80% during that time period.
While there could still be a shower on Tuesday morning, the front and rain will clear the area by Tuesday afternoon. High pressure will stick around through Friday. That means we will enjoy sun, cooler temperatures and lower humidity for the middle of the week. The next best chance of a thunderstorm will be Friday and Saturday afternoon of next week.
