Triad -- So far, we have been able to hold off the muggy summer-like conditions. Now that summer is officially here, the time has come to let the humidity back in.
There is a low pressure system just off the North Carolina coast. It has been bringing rain to the coast, showers as far west as the Triangle and clouds to the Piedmont. Since we are on the outer fringes of the system's reach, we will be in and out of the clouds today. There is also a 20-percent chance of a shower. Highs will be in the low 80s. However, with increased humidity, it will feel a tad warmer than Friday.
If you want to check out the Super Moon tonight, it will all depend on the amount of cloud cover. It should be mainly cloudy in the evening and there is a 30-percent chance of a shower. However, clouds should decrease overnight. Your viewing chances should improve as the night wears on.
As a summertime pattern sets up, our rain chances increase for Sunday. Highs will be in the mid 80s and there will be a 40-percent chance of mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
That will kick off a week of typical summer weather. It will get a little warmer each day. Highs will climb from the mid 80s on Monday to the upper 80s by week's end. The humidity will also increase. Each afternoon there is a 30-percent chance of thunderstorms. That pattern is unlikely to break down for a while.
