Mocksville, NC -- A dentist in Clemmons is headed to trial accused of killing his estranged wife.
And we've learned the star witness will be the doctor himself.
Kirk Turner faces life in prison two years after police found his wife dead on the family property.
Attorneys on both sides expect to spend this week just selecting a jury.
Dr. Kirk Alan Turner claims self-defense in the death of his wife.
The dentist didn't answer any questions on his way into court but attorney Chuck Alexander confirmed one thing.
"I understand the Doctor will take the stand?" asked WFMY News 2's Mac Ingraham. "Yes, he certainly will," explained Alexander.
Turner has been out on bond since the murder charge continuing to operate his Clemmons dental practice.
Attorneys for both sides settled pre-trial motions Monday morning and moved to jury selection that afternoon.
The actual trial is expected to get underway next week.
