Greensboro, NC -- Guilford County School Board members heard an update on Oak Ridge Elementary Tuesday night.
Most of the carpeting has been removed from the school. Leaders are also discussing protocols for the crawl space, HVAC system and roofing.
The district is still waiting for the results of tests from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. NIOSH inspected the school in July.
It recommended the school remain closed until leaders figure out what's causing students and staff to become ill.
Regional Superintendent Angelo Kidd says leaders are looking to make the transportation hub for Oak Ridge students more efficient. Students go to Northwest Middle School then catch busses to their class locations. Kidd says it takes up a lot of the staff's time to supervise the process.
Kidd also says some teachers are still waiting for their supplies from Oak Ridge Elementary. All of the supplies are in storage, but because of the large scale of the moving process, some did not make it to the intended teachers. Kidd says all supplies will make it to the teachers by Friday afternoon.
