The fraternity was placed under investigation following the death of their president, Courtland Smith.
Smith was killed by an Archdale police officer in August after he called 911 claiming to be drunk and suicidal. An unexplained altercation ensured before Smith was shot by officer Jeremy Flinchum. Smith was transported to High Point Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was a junior majoring in biology.
