Davie Teacher Charged With Sex Offenses Found In Ohio

Mocksville, NC -- A Davie County middle school teacher charged with sexual exploitation has been found in Ohio.

Sheriff Andy Stokes tells WFMY News 2 that Douglas Ebersbach was found in New Philadelphia, OH. Police in Ohio took him into custody around 2:00am Saturday.

Stokes says there will be a bond hearing Monday. The Davie County distric attorney will begin the extradition process Monday.

The sheriff's office began investigating Ebersbach after getting a complaint of innappropriate activity by a middle school teacher on Monday September 28, 2009.

Friday, detectives the sheriff's office filed charges against Ebersbach. He is charged with:

  • 4 counts of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a minor
  • 1 count of Indecent Liberties with a minor
  • 1 count of Breaking and Entering.
