
Magnolia, NC -- One person is dead following the crash of an experimental aircraft in eastern North Carolina. The Federal Aviation Administration says the experimental aircraft went down in a wooded area around 12:45 p.m. near the town of Magnolia in Duplin County. An FAA spokeswoman described the plane as an RV-6. The pilot of the aircraft has not been identified. The FAA had no further details on the crash early Monday afternoon. WITN-TV in Washington reported Monday night that the plane left Wilmington at 12:27 p.m. and was headed to Louisburg, 31 miles northeast of Raleigh.
