Pleasant Garden, NC -- Pets, large and small, had their day in Pleasant Garden.
Clutz, the 200 pound Great Dane, stands more than three feet tall and was one of hundreds of animals that enjoyed "Pet Day." People spoiled the animals with nail clippings, ear washing, and of course, toys.
Pet owners also took advantage of the five dollar rabies vaccination clinic, and different contests for pets.
Steve Brandt, Chairman of the Pleasant Garden Recreation Board says, "I kind of like the contests we hold. Especially the dog/owner look-a-like. It's fun to watch the pets, because like Murphy's law the dog will perform until its time."
One of the highlights was a best costume award for pets. A small dog in a clown outfit won a $25 gift card for being best dressed.
