Alamance County, NC-- Alamance County deputies were hoping for a happy ending to the search for 87 year old Hugh Clark. Clark went missing Friday, October 23. He was last seen driving off in his car. The family told WFMY that Clark had early signs of dementia.
His family and Alamance County Sheriff's department officers have been searching for him since last Friday. The state even issued a Silver Alert. Wednesday, a search team took dogs out to search along the Haw River.
Friday afternoon, deputies in Montgomery County called Alamance County around 4pm today to let them know a hunter found a car in a thickly wooded area. The hunter notified Montgomery Co. deputies who ran the tag number on the car. It came back as Hugh Clark's. Officers say Clark was deceased when the car was found.
Investigators don't suspect foul play in Clark's death, however, the Montgomery County Sheriff's office is handling the death investigation.
