Construction Of Guilford County School Could Have Expensive Price Tag

Guilford County, NC -- Construction of a new elementary school in southeastern Guilford County could cost millions of dollars more than planned.

The

money comes from an approved school construction bond. The site where school leaders were planning to build would be on Mount Hope Church Road, but Guilford County Commissioner Billy Yow says the property may not be able to support a septic system large enough for a school. That would mean spending more money to connect to the Greensboro Sewer System.

Leaders would not say if they are looking at alternative locations.
