Granite Quarry, NC - Joe Fox, President of Dirtball Fashion understands the negative effects plastic bottles have on the environment.  "Fifty-one billion water bottles go into the landfills annually, they take 700 years to decompose so thats a long time to sit and wait for something to go back to nature."

In late 2008, he developed a company plan to use the bottles in his line of clothing.  Each shirt produced contains recycled cotton, and two 16 ounce water bottles.   The shorts go a step further and use ten 16 ounce water bottles.

In addition to being eco-friendly Fox also had another goal when founding the company, "All these folks want work, so I decided if I was able to employ these people or build this brand it in essence by selling more product, I buy more product from them they have to employ more American workers so it's a vicious cycle so to speak for the good."

As for the name Fox explains it does not have a negative connotation, "It's about getting out there and doing your thing in the outdoors, but at the same time wearing a product that helps sustain our environment."
