Stoneville, NC -- Deputies arrested a suspected robber thanks to the help of a quick-thinking homeowner.
Rockingham County Sheriff's Office began the search for 37-year-old Otis Lee Hill, Jr. after he allegedly robbed the Two Brothers Convenience store on Tuesday. The clerk says Hill put a soda and a dollar bill on the counter, but when the drawer opened, Hill said he had a gun and demanded money.
Warrants were then issued for Hill's arrest.
Two days later, 52-year-old Walter Barker was told by a family member that Hill was walking toward him. Barker got his shotgun, went outside and ordered Hill to get on the ground. Barker then called 911.
Deputies arrived and found Hill in a "prone position". He was arrested and taken to the jail. He is charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
