Funeral Held For Veteran Firefighter

High Point, NC -- Family and friends of a local firefighter paid their respect Sunday afternoon.

Deputy Chief Chad Eric Greene, 34, of Union Cross Fire Rescue, died on November 4 after responding to a car crash and completing a shift with Union Cross Fire Rescue.

Greene was found unresponsive at home around noon. After resuscitation efforts failed, he was pronounced at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital at 12:30. Chad was a Deputy Chief and worked part-time with the Union Cross Fire station.

Green was a 13-year veteran of the High Point Fire Department serving as a fire equipment operator.

Deputy Chief Green is survived by his with Kimberly, daughter Emma Kaytlin and son Jacob Austin.

Green's funeral was scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday at Green Street Baptist Church in High Point. The burial was held afterward at Union Cross Moravian Church.
