Greensboro, NC -- After a year of layoffs, reduced hours and paycuts, many people are worried that this Thanksgiving won't be like years past.

The members of Lawndale Baptist Church want to make sure everyone can enjoy the holiday, so they are "Feeding The 5,000".

On Tuesday, November 24, members will be giving out boxes of food to the first 1,000 families. Each box will feed five people.

"Whether you're a member of our church or not, this is a community outreach. And you don't have to be unemployed to come and participate in this," a church spokesperson said.

Everyone with a need is invited. The parking lot will open at 12:30 pm and the doors will open at 1:00 pm.

The church is located at 3505 Lawndale Drive in Greensboro.
