Raleigh, NC -- A North Carolina man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 10-month-old infant girl.

Raleigh police arrested 26-year-old Joshua Andrew Stepp on Monday after a 911 call Sunday night about an unresponsive infant at a local home.

The child was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The case is under investigation. It is unclear what relationship Stepp had with the child. They both lived in the Raleigh home.

Stepp is currently at the Wake County Jail on a $500,000 secured bond for a first-degree sex offense charge in the case. The murder charge carries no bond.

Stepp is scheduled in court on Tuesday. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
