Guilford County, NC -- Some local deputies had to learn their new weapons Monday, after they got them free from a gun company. Guilford County deputies spent the afternoon firing their new Smith and Wessons. The guns came as part of an advertising deal with the department. Each year deputies must get re-certified with a new gun and new style of holster. If not for the free guns, it would have cost the agency $212,000 to replace the 400 guns.
