Greensboro, NC -- Police are looking for any leads that could find the person/people responsible in an early morning shooting.

Around 1:30 Tuesday morning Greensboro Police were called to room #304 at the LandMark Inn to find 28-year-old Willie James Bolden Jr. dead from what looked to be a gun shot wound.

Police don't have a suspect or a motive in the shooting at this time.

Tuesday's shooting makes the third homicide investigation involving the LandMark Inn since October. Bryon Renwick, 43, was fatally shot on November 3. Jermaine Tinsley, 34, was fatally shot on October 20.

Captain Chris Walker with Greensboro Police said there is no evidence showing the incidents are connected, and they were not random acts of violence.

"In this case, because they're not connected, you have to look at the site or location as the connector, and that's all we have right now, is that they happened at the same hotel," said Walker.

Walker said he continues to submit reports about crime at the LandMark Inn, which could make their way up the chain of command and eventually go before city council for a nuisance abatement action, which could get the motel shut down.

City Attorney Terry Wood wouldn't comment on specific cases, but said his office is currently not processing any nuisance abatement reports.

Other area motels that have had problems with crime have taken extra steps to prevent criminal activity. The owners of the Cavalier Inn on W. JJ Drive hired security guard Daniel Young to patrol the property.

"The police department can't do it by themselves, the management can't do it by themselves," said Young. "This hotel sits right off an interstate and stays open 24 hours a day. If me and my family are traveling and I need a place to stay, I don't want to come to a place where people are lingering in the parking lot or I'm going to feel like my car's going to get broken into."

The LandMark Inn does have security cameras on its property. Management had no comment Tuesday.

Anyone with information about Tuesday's shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (336) 373-1000.
