Utility Employee From North Wilkesboro Killed In Hit-And-Run

Alexander County, NC -- Investigators are looking for any information about an early morning hit-and-run that left a man lying in the road.

Alexander County Sheriff's Department called the Highway Patrol after finding a man lying along Old Mountain Road around 2:50 am.

Investigators say the man, 61-year-old Henry Pittman, Jr. of North Wilkesboro, was doing work for a utility company when he was hit.

Pittman was transported to Baptist Hospital and pronounced dead.

The Highway Patrol says the suspect didn't stop and there aren't any witnesses. They are looking for a vehicle with front end and windshield damage.
