Greensboro, NC --  You may be surprised to find out just how many local high school students serve at the Greensboro Urban Ministries Prayer Breakfast on Monday and Wednesday mornings.

On one Wednesday morning before 6:00 AM and there were around twenty teens already running around the kitchen!  The students come out early in the morning for a variety of reasons.  Some need community service hours for school and others just love the people and love serving.

AC Johns says she's one of those who just finds joy in loving and serving those who need her help.

Four years ago, AC's sister took her to the soup kitchen early one Wednesday morning.  Her sister told AC that she could either serve or ride the bus.  AC chose the soup kitchen.

Johns kept it up even with her sister now in college.  AC's alarm clock keeps going off at 4:30 AM so she can start making breakfast by 6:00.

"It's really fun.  It's a good experience.  You see some really cool people and some people that need to get back on their feet." says Johns.  "It's cool to be part of their experience of doing that, serving them breakfast.  Some people are so sweet and generous and some people just need a helping hand."

Her sister may be in college but they are still keeping it in the family.  AC's dad also serves as often as he can.  In a few years, she too will be heading off to college- but in the meantime, she shows no signs of sleeping in!
