Some states have already banned talking on a hand-held cell phone, but hands-free is still legal.
A spokesperson for AAA of the Carolinas doesn't think our state will ever ban talking on a cell phone while driving, but the auto club supports banning hand-held devices.
"To me, to me it's reaction time that's the big factor, and you can't just react as quick with one hand holing a cell phone than you can with two hands. Plain and simple," says Tom Crosby, AAA.
20 other states have also banned texting while driving.
