Greensboro, NC --  19 cents a gallon.

That's how much gas prices jumped in just one week, and that's not the only place you're paying more.

When you pay more at the pump, it costs more in other places.

Bill Brooks owns Coe Grocery and Seed Company in downtown Greensboro. He is keeping price increases at bay at his grocery store for now.

But he says if you haven't seen gas prices jack up your food costs yet, you will.

"It has to be shipped at some point by a vehicle that uses gas or diesel, and the poor consumer is the one who ends up bearing the burden," explained Brooks.

A month ago we were paying $3.03 for a gallon of regular unleaded on average in the Triad.

A year ago it was $2.65 a gallon.
