Baltimore, MD -- Baltimore police say they are "back at square one" after a daylong search of a state park failed to turn up clues in the disappearance of a North Carolina teenager.
Phylicia Barnes of Monroe, N.C., was reported missing Dec. 28, just weeks before her 17th birthday. She had been visiting three older half-siblings over the holidays in Baltimore when she went missing.
On Saturday, hundreds of law enforcement officers and volunteers searched Patapsco Valley State Park, a location that police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says was identified through interviews with people of interest.
After three months, Guglielmi says investigators still have not gotten very far toward learning what happened to Barnes. And after Saturday's search he says police are "very much back at square one."
