Greensboro, NC -- A forgotten detail is to blame for a postponed annoucement on a new grocery store opening in East Greensboro.
Councilman Jim Kee told WFMY News 2 that the city missed a minor detail during negotiations, with the grocery chain, Save-A-Lot.
There has not been a grocery store in the Bessemer Shopping Center in more than a decade.
Officials say Save-A-Lot will bring between 20 and 25 jobs to the area.
"We just kind of missed it. We thought it was a minor detail and it is minor but it was major enough to reschedule the press conference," explained Kee.
Even with the mistake, Jim Kee still hopes to have the press conference soon and open the doors to Save-A-Lot in six months.
A representative at Save-A-Lot's headquarters in Saint Louis, Missouri told WFMY News 2 in a phone interview that the talks with the city are in the "early stages" of conversation.
However, the company does not see any reason why the details can't be hammered out.
