Winston-Salem, NC-- An assault call ended with officers arresting one of their own for assaulting a woman.

Sunday afternoon, Winston-Salem Police Officers were dispatched to a home on Oakhurst Park Lane for an assault on a female call. While investigating the incident, officers arrested John Patterson Berry for Assault on a Female and False Imprisonment.

Berry was placed under a $1,000.00 secured bond and placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center.

Monday, police revealed that Berry is an officer with the Winston-Salem Police Department.

According to a news release, Berry has been placed on administrative duties, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
