Greensboro, NC -- Cone Health will have a class called "Fighting Childhood Obesity" on Thursday from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Sara Himmelrich, a registered dietician from the Nutrition and Diabetes Management Center, will give parents guidelines about childeren's weight. She will also talk about lifestyles that contribute to childhood obesity and how to help children live healthy lives.
The class is free, but requires pre-registration. You can register online or by calling (336) 832-8000.
Nearly one in three children in America between the ages of two and 19 are overweight or obese. Overweight children are at increased risk of developing serious chronic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.
