Greensboro, NC-- Police in Greensboro have reopened several streets in the Golden Gate area after closing them for several hours.
This all started after police said they received a robbery of a business call around 11:08am in the 2300 block of N. Church St. Someone robbed the Aman Mini-Mart.
Officers said the suspect was armed with a semi-automatic pistol when he went into the business and made everyone inside get on the floor.
The suspect was seen running west in an area behind the Golden Gate Shopping Center. Police started interviewing witnesses in the area to get more information on the suspect's location.
Investigators said because the person was armed and had just committed a violent crime they decided to close off the area and call for backup. Police even dispatched their Special Response Team and Hostage Negotiators to the scene.
The scene was considered safe just after 2:00pm and all roads were reopened.
During the investigation police closed: Shannon Dr at Golden Gate Dr., Golden Gate Dr. at Melbourne Rd., Lynbrook Dr. at Golden Gate Dr. and Melbourne Rd at Lynbrook Dr.
Investigators were using parking lot of the Golden Gate Shopping Center for its police command center.
