Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Juan Francisco, Dan Uggla and Freddie Freeman
each hit a two-run homer on Wednesday and the Braves pounded the Mets, 14-6,
in the finale of a three-game series.
Atlanta, which was swept by the Mets to begin the season, has won seven of its
last eight games overall, including the final two in this series.
Michael Bourn went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Martin Prado also knocked in a
pair. Jair Jurrjens allowed four runs on seven hits over four-plus innings and
Cristhian Martinez (1-0) earned the win after giving up one run in two
innings of relief.
David Wright had three RBI, Ike Davis hit a solo home run and Kirk Nieuwenhuis
went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles for the Mets, losers of three of their
last four.
R.A. Dickey (2-1) took the loss and saw his major league-leading streak of 14
straight quality starts come to an emphatic end. He was charged with eight
runs on eight hits and two walks over 4 1/3 innings.
