This house was designed and built by Guilford Technical Community College students.
From design to completion, students from various parts of the college including industrial construction and engineering technologies, began work on the home nearly two years ago.
The house features: all new Energy Star certified appliances, carpet made from recycled plastic bottles, and solar cells that will heat water and store energy for use.
The students goal was to make the home as energy efficient as possible, and at the same time, learn the green techniques that will be used in the future.
Shannon Krueser said the school will sell the house after they pass their certificate of occupancy. The starting price will be about $179,000.00.
If you're interested in seeing the house it will part of the Greensboro Parade of Home on May 5 and 6.
