(Elon, NC) -- An Elon University sophomore died early Monday morning.
A news release on Elon's website said that Jordan West died unexpectedly after having problems breathing while he was in his home at the Crest apartments. His roommates called 911 just before 3 a.m. and West was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center where he passed away.
The university will gather in Moseley Center 215 from 2 pm to 4 pm to begin the grieving process.
West was a marketing major from Williamstown, NJ. He was one of the students honored on Saturday at the Phillips-Perry Black Excellence Awards.
