Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Sun-Ju Ahn's playoff victory Sunday at the
World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup allowed her to move up to No. 6 in this
week's world rankings.
The rankings remained largely unchanged because the LPGA played an unofficial,
two-day event in Brazil. But Ahn won the Salonpas Cup, a major on the LPGA of
Japan, and picked up three places in the rankings.
She sits just outside of the top five, which remained unchanged from last week
-- Yani Tseng is still in first by a wide margin, followed by Na Yeon Choi,
Suzann Pettersen, Ai Miyazato and Cristie Kerr.
Ahn's gain resulted in Stacy Lewis, I.K. Kim and Jiyai Shin all losing one
position. They are seventh through ninth, respectively, while Paula Creamer
stayed at No. 10.
Brittany Lincicome, Shanshan Feng, Amy Yang, Sun Young Yoo and Angela Stanford
still occupy spots 11 through 15. Ji-Hee Lee and Chie Arimura switched places,
with Lee moving up to 16th and Arimura falling to 17th.
So Yeon Ryu, Karrie Webb and Catriona Matthew, who kept their places, rounded
out the top 20.
