Caswell County, NC-- A man is in the Caswell County Jail on drug charges after running from police at a checkpoint.
The arrest was made Thursday morning when the Caswell County Sheriff's Office was conducting a "Click It or Ticket" checkpoint and patrol in the Casville area near Highway 158 west.
Deputies stopped a car for an expired registration at the Casville Mart on Highway 158 and when the driver pulled to the gas pumps he jumped and ran from the car. They were able to catch the suspect after a foot chase, but he was apprehended by deputy's a short distance from the store.
According to officers, during the foot chase the suspect ran out of his shoes. When officers found his shoes, they also found 14.6 grams of Crack Cocaine near the shoes having a street value of approximately $400.00. The 1996 Mercury was seized by the sheriff's office.
The suspect is identified as Isacca Lee Walker of Elon. Walker was charged with Possession With Intent to Manufacture Sell Deliver cocaine, Manufacture cocaine, Felony possession of cocaine, Maintain a vehicle for controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Driving while License Revoked, No Insurance, Expired Registration Plates, Resist Obstruct and Delay.
He was placed in the Caswell County Detention Center under a $100,000.00 Secured bond.
