TOKYO - Wake Forest All-American Katie Stengel can add Under-20 World Cup Champion to her already impressive resume. The junior forward started for the United States Saturday in a 1-0 win over Germany in the 2012 FIFA U-20 World Cup final in Tokyo.

Kealia Ohai scored the only goal of the match just before halftime for the Americans, who held on to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Germans earlier in the tournament and claim their third World Cup crown.

Stengel becomes the second Wake Forest player to be part of a winning U-20 World Cup squad after Kaley Fountain won the title with the U.S. squad at the 2008 World Cup. The Melbourne, Fla. native played 60 minutes in today's title match and had a strong game up front in a target forward role.

Stengel will rejoin the Demon Deacons in time for their first ACC match of the season next Thursday on the road at Miami.
