Bemurda Run, NC - Davie County Sheriff's deputies are trying to figure out why a former marine shot his wife before killing himself.
On Sunday morning, the Sheriff's Office arrived at a home in Bermurda Run, NC. Deputies said they found Sarah Browder Harris, 29, lying across the street with two gunshot wounds. They found Kirk Walter Harris, 26, dead in the driveway with his own gunshot wound.
Sarah was from Greensboro, and Kirk was from Jacksonville, NC.
We are told the two victims were married. The couple was staying at Kirk's parent's home for the weekend. The parents were out of town.
Deputies said the two got into an argument, and Mr. Harris shot Mrs. Harris twice. He then shot himself.
Sarah Harris was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where she is being treated in the intensive care unit.
Deputies recovered the weapon at the scene, and they don't think anyone else was involved.
Kirk Harris was in the U.S. Marine Corps, and Mrs. Harris was attending school in Greensboro.
