High Point - High Point Market is estimated to be the economic equivalent of a Super Bowl, and it all begins on Saturday.
High Point Market is the largest furniture market in the world and is expected to draw more than 75,000 people, more than 2,000 exhibitors and representatives from 100 countries.
The result of all of this is a cash windfall for companies throughout the Triad, from hotels and restaurants to temporary workers hired to help during the week.
The High Point Chamber of Commerce estimates the Market pumps over $1 billion into the Triad economy.
Candy Lambeth's family owns the Radio Building in downtown High Point and she is busy preparing the first floor of the building to be the showroom for Taracea Furniture.
She told News 2's Patrick Phillippi this is a week where people throughout the industry come together to pull it off, saying, "People in this industry understand that you can't wait until tomorrow for what you need, so they show up."
