CHARLOTTE, NC -- The two major-party candidates for North Carolina governor already have voted two weeks before Election Day.
Republican Pat McCrory completed his ballot Tuesday at an early-voting center in Charlotte, where the city's former mayor lives. Democrat Walter Dalton's campaign said the lieutenant governor voted early Monday in his hometown of Rutherfordton.
Dalton joined McCrory in Charlotte earlier Tuesday for some campaigning. Dalton visited an early voting site in downtown Charlotte. The two also spoke separately to the annual conference of the North Carolina League of Municipalities at the Charlotte Convention Center.
The two candidates are participating in their final televised debate Wednesday night in Rocky Mount.
