Lexington, NC --- Thousands of people poured into downtown Lexington to eat the town's contribution to Carolina cuisine, BBQ.
For some , its was a first time event for others it's an annual pilgrimage.
Al Mercado, a first timers says, he normally thinks of BBQ as chicken, ribs, and steak on a grill, but he thinks he can get used to the NC pulled pork BBQ.
Michelle Whitfield, a long time BBQ Festival goer says, she grew up in the area and comes every year and for her , this is the only kind of BBQ that suits her taste buds.
