Winston-Salem, NC -- Two Glenn High School students are in trouble for having guns on school property.
Theo Helm, spokesman for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, said a parent called before school Friday to report a student bringing a gun to Glenn High.
A school resource officer investigated and found the weapons after searching the students.
Police charged a 17 year-old DaCian Rhymer and filed a petition for secure custody on a juvenile for also having a gun on campus.
During their investigation, Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department said they learned that the students were scheduled to meet some other students for a prearranged fight after school.
Rhymer is charged with Possession of a Weapon (Knife) on School Property. The Juvenile will be charged with Possession of a Weapon (Gun) on School Property.
Helm says the school district will issue its own punishment, which could be as much as a 365-day suspension from school.
