Charlotte, NC -- A hepatitis outbreak has resulted in a recall of a Harris Teeter product.
Tuesday, Harris Teeter announced that the company is pulling its Harris Teeter Organics Antioxidant Berry Blend supplied by Townsend Farms, Inc. The recall comes after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed it is investigating an outbreak of Hepatitis A linked to the frozen organic berry blend.
The recall involves this product: Harris Teeter Organics Antioxidant Berry Blend with a UPC 7203670463 and Code Dates T041613C and T041613E.
The company said it is also posting information inside its stores and on its website about this voluntary recall. Consumers who purchased the berry mix may also receive a phone call. Customers are being warned not to eat the product. Instead, they should throw it out or return it for a full refund.
