Greensboro, NC -- After a line of severe and dangerous storms tore through the Triad conditions will continue to improve through Thursday evening and into the overnight.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch that was in effect for the entire Piedmont Triad has been canceled as the threat for severe weather has ended.
The storms produced numerous reports of downed trees and power outages. There were at least 100 severe weather reports in the WFMY viewing area alone.

A few thunderstorms will linger in areas south through Thursday evening evening. Otherwise, the sky will gradually clear and eventually become mostly clear by late Thursday night. Temperatures Thursday night will drop into the lower 60s.
Friday will be significantly cooler and less humid with abundant sunshine. Temperatures Friday will climb into the middle 70s through lunch time and then peak around 80 degrees.
The weekend weather looks great as well with partly cloudy conditions and high temperatures in the middle 80s.
