DANVILLE, Va. -- Police in Danville say the suspect in a store robbery handed the cashier a note before taking money from the register.
Investigators were called to the Fas Mart in the 2800 block of West Main Street after midnight Monday morning.
The employee told police that a white man - about 6 feet tall, between 30 and 40 years old - came into the store and grabbed a drink. He placed it on the counter and passed the clerk a note saying he had a gun and demanded money, according to the police department.
Police said they believed the man headed south on West Main Street in a Ford Taurus. They said he has "short reddish hair" and has a hearing aid on his right ear; he wore a beige work shirt with boots and blue jeans.
