Danville, VA -- The trial of a man accused of murdering his pregnant twin sister is underway in Danville.
Larry Nielson was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tabitha Bonaparte.
Neilson allegedly stabbed his sister to death after a heated argument May 21.
Lawyers for Neilson contend that their client "just snapped," making the killing a crime of passion and thus second-degree murder.
Neilson's lawyers say he was drunk and the fight began after Bonoparte insulted Neilson's girlfriend and 11-month-old son, who badly needed a liver transplant.
Danville Commonwealth's Attorney William Fuller however contents that "the evidence will indicate that this was a cold-blooded, premeditated murder."
