Oak Ridge, NC -- Administrators at one Guilford County School have closed a classroom to students because of mold. According to parents, mold is just one of many problems. Oak Ridge Elementary's brand new facility still has a lot of construction going on. P.E. teachers are holding classes outside since the gym is not finished. Some playground equipment is not safe and the media center, set to open in October, is far from finished. On Wednesday, health officials found mold in two areas of the school after teachers and students complained they were getting sick. "We just feel, as parents, that this stuff should have been taken care of before kids started school on August 25th," says parent Scotti Lanier. Guilford County School leaders say they have been monitoring the mold situation but they say with so many construction projects going on in the county they can't devote all of their resources to one school.
