High Point, NC - Students at the Piedmont School did not let Friday's rain stop them from reaching for the stars.

The students are trying to raise money for their trip to space camp in Huntsville, Alabama. The 30 minute jog-a-thon raised $3,742.75 toward their $10,000 goal.

The money will help them pay for two buses and travel expenses for the 45 students going on the trip in April.

Students got a pretty good soaking, but they say getting wet was worth it.

"I think it'd be a great experience for us to see how astronauts train and see what they can do," said Christo Moore.

People can send donations to the Piedmont School. The school is located at 815 Old Mill Road in High Point. You can also call the school for more information at 336-883-0992.
