Former Drama Teacher Indicted For Sex Offenses With A Student

Greensboro, NC-- Leanne Macklin a former drama teacher at Weaver Academy has been indicted. A Grand jury in Greensoro handed the indictments down this week.

Macklin is indicted for:
5 counts of felony sex offense with a student.

The charges against her were filed by the student's parents in July. Guilford County Schools told WFMY News 2 they had investigated similar complaints about Macklin but found no evidence of wrong-doing.

Macklin was with the school from 2005 until she resigned in June of this year.

The District Attorney's office has not set a trial date for the case. She had her "first appearance" on the charges in August.

Macklin remains free on bond.
