Greensboro, NC -- Hollywood rolled out the red carpet for the Oscars, but some people didn't have to travel three-thousand miles, as the Oscars came to Greensboro.
The Community Theatre of Greensboro held an Oscar watch party benefit at the Carolina Theatre. The night featured music, a silent auction, and performances. And what would an Oscar party be without celebrities and a red carpet, which is where stars of Community Theatre plays mixed and mingled.
Attendees like Tashia Dorsey say the event made them feel like stars. "Coming down the red carpet, being interviewed, asked for my autograph, and taking pictures with Diana Ross and Annie and some of the other stars, that was really the highlight."
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences only lets one non-profit per state use Oscar night as a fundraiser. The Commmunity Theater of Greensboro was their choice for North Carolina.
