Greensboro, NC -- Two weeks ago, we told you Susie's story. Someone found the puppy burned and abused in Greenfield Park.
Today, we have a good update for you.
Veterinary Technician manager Marissa Studivent says, "Right now [she] has to have a lot of the burn cream on her. Her hair, we think she's gonna get most of it back. Her ears will probably always look a little funny, but her spirit outshines all of that."
Susie is recovering well. Her hair is growing back on the top of her head and her whiskers are even growing back. You may think she'd be shy or afraid of people after her ordeal, but Studivent says Susie's not your ordinary puppy. "[She has] no behavior issues, shes not afraid of people at all. In fact, all she wants to do is to play and be held and get in your lap. She's great shes got no emotional scars whatsoever."
The animal shelter says Susie's adoption is pretty much guaranteed since so many people applied to adopt her. But they want people to remember they have 300 other dogs in the shelter who also need good homes.
