
Stokesdale, NC -- Detectives in California arrested a woman wanted in the Triad for fraud.
Rockingham County Sheriff's Office issued an arrest warrant for Christine Black for defrauding Sharon K. Hopper Fine Gardening Inc. in Stokesdale.
Black was an employee at the business and was trusted to receive deposits and handle bookkeeping. Investigators say during her employment, she forged signatures on banking documents worth at least $100,000.
The US Marshal's Office found Black in Orange County, California and she was jailed under a $900,000 bond. She is awaiting extradition back to NC.
She is expected to be charged with 9 counts of embezzlement, 18 counts of forgery and 18 counts of uttering a forged instrument. Her last known address was in Kernersville.
