Oak Ridge, NC -- Oak Ridge Military Academy is welcoming its new school leader. The Board of Trustees has named C. Cuyler McKnight as the academy's new president. McKnight is a retired officer in the U.S Army and was named the dean of the High Point campus at GTCC in 2003. He later took over the executive vice president position. The new leader says he thinks he can turn the cash-strapped school around. "Every dime counts," said McKnight. "You learn to budget. You learn to work yourself within what you own and what you have, and you don't work outside of those things. I think that we can continue to grow and be successful at that." Reginald Ponder has served as interim president of academy since July. He will help McKnight transition into the role until he takes over on Nov. 9.
